Volunteer At A Café That Helps To Save Lives
Wales Air Ambulance’s Caffi HEMS has funded over 100 lifesaving missions across Wales, and the charity are appealing for supporters to donate their time in the restaurant.
Every day, the coffees, cakes and meals served from the café based in Caernarfon airport, help to generate donations to fund the lifesaving helicopter charity’s operations.
Victoria Williams, Caffi HEMS Manager, said: “Caffi HEMS is Wales Air Ambulance’s first café, and it helps to raise the £6.5 million needed every year to keep WAA’s helicopters flying, through selling fresh food made from beautiful local produce.
“As a charity, we rely on the kind support we receive to run our services – by donating some of your time to help out at Caffi HEMS, you can help save lives.
“Whether it is an hour here and there, or a few hours a week, your support will help to raise vital funds for the charity.
“And you can see your support at work, as the café has panoramic views of the airfield so you can watch all the aircraft take off, including the Wales Air Ambulance going out on the missions you are helping to fund.”
The Caernarfon café serves freshly prepared food, made from produce local to the area, hosting regular events showcases the stunning cuisine Wales has to offer.
The Welsh helicopter charity are looking for volunteers to join the Caffi HEMS staff in a variety of roles to help run the restaurant.
Victoria said: “We are a close team, who take real joy in hand-crafting delicious food for our supporters and raising lifesaving donations for the charity.
“If you would like to find out more about volunteering at Caffi HEMS, please get in touch or pop in for a cup of tea and a cake!”
