Opportunity To Run Italian Theme Café
Do you have what it takes to open a new café at Rhondda Heritage Park, honouring the Italian Community in South Wales?
This is an ideal opportunity for someone within the catering industry to be a part of this exciting new development at the Council’s popular tourist attraction following the announcement that almost half-a-million pound has been earmarked, by the local authority, to bring the customer offer for Rhondda Heritage Park into the 21st Century.
As part of the major investment works, the Level One Café is being replaced by a traditional café with an Italian Theme, honouring the Italian Communities who moved to Wales in the early 1900s to open cafes, fish and chip shops and temperance bars in the towns and villages of the South Wales Valleys.
The backbone of many mining communities throughout the County Borough in the 20th Century, many Italian cafes still exist in our communities to this day.
Would you like to run the new Italian-theme café at Rhondda Heritage Park?
Cllr Joy Rosser, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Wellbeing and Communities, said: “The Council is providing a rare but real opportunity for chefs or caterers with ambition to establish themselves at our venue, which attracts thousands of visitors all year around.
“It may also be an ideal opportunity for a newly-qualified chef or caterer to make their mark and follow their dream of running their own café as part of the Rhondda Heritage Park brand.”
The successful applicant will operate from within a new, fully-fitted kitchen and Italian-themed café area. The franchise is for a three-year tender, with the option to extend further.
The closing date for applications is noon on Monday, October 31.
