Pupils from Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Allta in Ystrad Mynach braved the rain earlier this week to do their bit for their local environment by carrying out a litter pick. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

The school’s Eco Committee joined forces with Caerphilly County Borough Council’s ‘Tidy Team’ to carry out the litter pick along the stream embankment through Ystrad Mynach. The pupils collected an impressive ten bags of litter and waste. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Headteacher Mrs Delyth Williams commented, “I am so proud of our pupils, they took to the challenge with relish and enjoyed this session out of the classroom. These pupils are representatives of our Eco Committee this team, and their endeavours are an example for the rest of the school to follow”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Cabinet Member Cllr Nigel George added, “I would like to thank the pupils from Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Allta for their commitment to helping improve our local environment, making it even cleaner and greener for people to enjoy”. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Their efforts are helping Caerphilly County Borough Council achieve the goals set out in the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
