Caerphilly Youth Theatre Celebrate A Sell-Out Success!
Caerphilly Youth Theatre are celebrating 2 sell out performances of their latest production, ‘Grease’, at Blackwood Miners Institute.
The story of Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski, the cool T-Birds, sassy Pink Ladies of Rydell High School proved a hit with audiences who packed out the auditorium of Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 September. The show featured all the unforgettable songs made famous in the hit 1978 movie, including Summer Nights, We go together and Greased Lightning.
Caerphilly Youth Theatre is made up of young people from across the county borough, who work collectively to put on an exciting, professional musical production. Young people bring not only their fantastic acting, singing and dancing abilities but also the necessary theatre skills to technically deliver outstanding shows that impress audiences of all ages.
Cllr. Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning & Sustainable Development said: “I would like to congratulate Caerphilly Youth Theatre on another fantastic success. The work that goes in to producing a professional theatre production cannot be underestimated, well done to the cast and team of creatives who have worked tirelessly over recent months to bring the story of ‘Grease’ to life at Blackwood Miners’ Institute.”
