The environmental clean-up day, which was organised by Wrexham Council and Local Member Cllr Brian Cameron, was held in the Tanycoed area of Caia Park. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

During the event council tenants had the chance to get rid of bulky rubbish and unwanted items. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Staff from the Caia Estate Office and Streetscene were also on hand to help with larger items and answer queries on housing related issues. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Local Member for Whitegate, Cllr Brian Cameron said: “We’ve held a number of these events here now and delighted that the action day has once again proved to be a very popular and successful venture. It’s not always easy for tenants to dispose of large bulky items so offering this service is very helpful for many local people.I’d like to thank the staff from the Caia Estate Office (led by Jane Cotton), Streetscene and Probation for organising the event and for helping out on the day. Also, thanks to the tenants who came out and helped us make the event a success. We are hoping to hold similar events later this year.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Lead Member for Housing, Cllr Ian Roberts, added: “Our estate offices hold a number of these events across the County Borough throughout the year. They are a very useful way for tenants to clear out unwanted rubbish from in and around their homes. They are always held in easily accessible locations within the community and there is help available to move bulky items so I would encourage tenants to make the most of these events when they take place in their local area.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
