GSCE results were published today (25/08/2016) and the Portfolio Leader for Education, Councillor Ken Hughes, and Delyth Molyneux, Head of Lifelong Learning, were pleased with Anglesey’s GCSE results. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Delyth Molyneux said, “It’s a pleasure to report an improvement in the percentage of pupils achieving A* and A again this year (18.9%) with the percentages achieving grades A*-C [66.5%] and A*-G [99.1%] similar to last year. It is also pleasing to note the success of our young people in the Welsh Baccalaureate at intermediate and foundation levels.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

“This reflects the dedication of our young people and their teachers, the high level of parental support and the support our schools provide to ensure the success of every individual pupil.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌

Education Portfolio Holder, Councillor Ken Hughes said, “We would like to congratulate our young people on their successes this year, particularly those who have worked extremely hard to win their qualifications. We wish them the very best of luck as they move forward in their education and training.” ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌
